The book is composed of average citizens’ concerns that anyone can think of. “The idea came up from something which, at first sight, had nothing to do with Armenians, just like how mankind evolved from Adam and Eve and their two sons,” says the author.

When introducing himself or Armenians to his Russian partners, Mr. Sargsyan was often asked why there were few Armenians in the 21st century, if they are a conservative nation with a history spanning millennia and that became the second motive for writing the book.

To find the answers to these questions, Mr. Sargsyan set out to study the ancient sources and not only Armenian, but Babylonian, Akkadian, Schumerian, Jewish and more.

The book is in Russian in order to make it accessible to foreign readers as well. There are already 700 copies, but the book’s modified version will soon be released and will include all that was not included in the current version.

“The Armenian Highland has not only had a secondary or tertiary role, but in some cases, a primary role. However, people today don’t remember it,” says Yuri Sargsyan.

Attending the book presentation was physicist Eva Dalyan who says though the book is in Russian, it is rather readable and interesting from the angle of mere art.
