Shushi: place for all Armenian youth to gather
Posted 06-08-2012
The “Hayordiner” pan-Armenian scout camp will be held in Shushi on August 8-15.
The event will bring together Armenian scouts from Artsakh (Stepanakert, Martakert, Shushi, Kashatagh regions), as well as Armenia, Russia and Iran.

Since 2005, the Generation of Hayk youth non-governmental organization, in collaboration with the Raffi Association in Tehran, has been holding “Hayordiner” scout camps in different sites of Artsakh (Khndzristan village, Shushi city) for the past two years.

As a result, on 3-10 August 2010, Generation of Hayk youth NGO organized the “Hayordiner” pan-Armenian scout camp with nearly 100 scouts from Artsakh, Armenia and Iran. “Arise and Raise”-this is the general slogan for the camp event. On August 9, 2010, the day was declared the day of the foundation of the “Hayordiner” Artsakh Scout Movement with the blessing of Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh, Archbishop Parkev Martirosyan.

This laid the foundation for the scout movement in Artsakh. The goals of the camp in Shushi are to reinforce the Armenian upbringing of the new generation of Armenians, develop in them the psychology of being the owners of the country, contribute to the radicalization of a healthy lifestyle, teach them to be generous toward the surrounding environment, help strengthen contacts between the youth and broaden their world views through different kinds of events (games, contests, excursions), promote the development and dissemination of the scout movement in Artsakh and turn Shushi into a place for all Armenian youth to gather.

The movement has its managing bodies and levers and will spread to all residences of the republic as an organization in all parts of Artsakh.

On November 26-29, 2010 the organization held the fall scout camp in Shushi and the second camp on August 9-13, 2011. Currently, the organization holds professional courses for teens and youth in Stepanakert, Shushi and Martakert.
